Well, it is said that it was mere men who lived in medeival times.
I, personally, believe that men were, and obviously still are, capable of such a thing.
Well, Stonehenge had a number of reasons. As you're probably all sure, every March 4, which was a sacred Mayan holiday(I'm still not sure why), the sun would rise into exact alignment with the structure. On this day, all the people would gather around Stonehenge, and the Priest would conduct a ceremonial tribute to the gods, but this was not a blood sacrifice, or any kind of sacrifice, although they may have fasted.
It was also a calendar. A sort of primitivley advanced system of dating. I suppose the pillars could have been used as a year-round sundial too. I suppose the circular formation would make it so that it mould automatically reconfigure itself, technically without having to readjust, becuase it's just a continuous circle.

I think possibly the Druids formed Stonehenge, and I think it was a place of worship for them. I also think that Stonehenge was never completed, that they had more plans for it, whoever made it. I hope to go there some day, even if it has been fenced off and such, just so I could get the vibes from it.

Intresting theory. I agree with on that it doesn't seem finished, but then it is over a thousand years old. Something like that taken a beating over the years. I did watch a documentary once a few years ago (yes i am that sad) about stonehenge. It's a represents the moons movements and when eclipses are suppose the happen. After the 56 pits or "Aubrey Holes" were first discovered in the 17th century by British antiquary John Aubrey, A modern day astronomer Fred Hoyle believed it was possible to determine eclipses by moving three markers, or stones, around the Aubrey holes in such a way that when all three arrived at the same hole, an eclipse of the Sun or Moon was about to occur. And there may be many more theories that haven't even been explored or discovered yet. One just proposed suggests that Stonehenge is a sexually symbolic site, with both male and female represented in stone? I suppose this is possible. People managed to move and raise the heavy stones there in the first place. witcombe.sbc.edu/earthmysteries/EMStonehenge.html i found this site, it tells you how Stonehenge was believed to be created and erected. enjoy. P.S i forgot to add my vote, i vote A+B+C. in fact it should have been other but then its not other as my votes are there i just can't vote in 3 catagories.

Intresting.... It seems everyone has a theory as to what stonehenge is for and we may never know either.

I voted for Calendar, although, I believe from what I've seen and read that it was believed to determine the Sun and Moon phases. For instance the Winter Soltice and the Summer Soltice (good grief I can't spell but you get what I'm saying I'm sure). I believe that the Druids had a lot to do with it, and I also believe that men built it. I say that because scientists and geologists say they can't...but I beg to differ, just because we live in a world now with LOTS of technology doesn't mean that men at that time couldn't have pulled off making Stonehenge or the Pyramids of Egypt, they just didn't use motorized monsters to create their buildings.
My husband believes the same, he's very much drawn to Stonehenge and believes that it's based around the Druids.

smithy, what exactly do you mean by a key to our world?
I also believe that it holds many truths about our origins, that can only be uncovered by uncovering the the truth of Stonehenge.
In response to Lady Ambrosia:
That's very true. Just because the people of this time couldn't carry a three ton block of limestone up a giant triangle doesn't mean that people a while ago couldn't either.
Every theorist in almost the entire world thinks that alien lifeforms MUST have helped the egyptians build the pyramids. They just don't understand that humans are capable of such huge accomplishments.
