I recently got myself a book called Male Witches in early modern Europe [Lara Apps & Andrew Gow. Manchester press] which points out that although it is widely thought that most Witches were female in fact the opposite is true? From wood cuts (early pictures) to actual trial evidence it shows that men were more inclined to take the Witchcraft route than their female counterparts!
